Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) is a municipal organization responsible for psychiatry, therapy and medical care, consisting of hospitals, care-centers, housing groups and rehabilitation facilities and offering about 6,300 places in total for children, adolescents and adults. Our 8,500 employees treat and care for 140,000 patients per year in more than 100 facilities.
Our Department for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (LWL-Klinik Marsberg) is predominantly geared to behavioural therapy offering treatment for all forms and types of psychiatric disorders found in children and adolescents. Our specialist hospital is technically and logistically state-of-the-art and accredited according to KTQ requirements. The Medical Centre in Marsberg consists of 9 wards and there are clinical day units in Höxter, Meschede and Paderborn with an outpatient child guidance centre at each unit. Our responsibilities embrace the administrative districts of Hochsauerlandkreis, Höxter and Paderborn, but we also provide supra-regional special treatments for patients who suffer from borderline personality disorders (BPD), eating disorders, disorders resulting from traumas or intellectual adverse
effects, as well as qualified detoxification treatments with comorbidity and forensic long-term treatments for adolescents.
